Perhaps one of the most important uses to which you are going to put your digital maps, photographs and building plans will be supplying information to your clients electronically.
To carry this out successfully it is essential that these images be optimized to use minimum bandwidth and enable them to be transmitted in the shortest time possible with the minimum loss of
quality.
If any single idiosyncrasy has held back enhanced graphics on the World Wide Web, this is it.
The problem is not only true for websites, it is equally important for E-Mail.
No-one wants a 500 KB file in their in-box.
(As far as websites are concerned, the main reason that many companies say their websites don't work is because the visitor, (the potential client), gets bored and goes somewhere else because the download time is too long.)
File size and quality optimization is not only important for sending digital media to your clients. The copyright holders of your products normally won't give you permission to publish if they are dissatisfied with the final quality and download time of their imagery when it is destined for the public domain.

The image which appears has been reduced from a whopping 58KB in its original format to only 14KB. The un-optimized image, obviously not shown here, would take approx. 42 seconds to download whilst the optimized image should appear within 5 seconds, depending on your modem and how busy the network is, of course.
This represents a saving in download time of 37 seconds with a standard modem.
By using our image optimization facility, in the above scenario, your client can be E-mailed, (say), 12 maps, plans or photo's which will download in 30 seconds.
Unoptimized, the same 12 items would take 8 minutes.
The advantages are obvious. You can supply your client/applicant with a large selections of properties to visually consider and you can promptly forward a full set of plans, drawings, photo's to a client/applicant who is considering a particular property.
Nb. A small loss of quality may be noticed in certain instances, such as changes in shades and slight loss of sharpness in text definition. If neccesary we can replace existing text in your graphics with a more efficient format.
